TORONTO, ON – October 19, 2026 – One of Toronto’s newest fall events is serving up a day of delicious food, sustainable finds, fresh ideas and interactive experiences — all under one roof. On Sunday, November 1, VegTO presents Small Changes, Big Impact: A Food & Futures Fest, a one-day celebration taking over Wychwood Barns from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring 42 vendors, eight speakers and a variety of hands-on activities designed to make sustainable living fun, accessible and inspiring.

Part food festival, market and science fair, the event invites Torontonians to eat, shop, explore and discover how small changes in our everyday lives can have a positive impact on our health, animals, food systems and the environment.

And you don’t have to be vegan to join in.

“Small Changes, BIG Impact is really about bringing people together at a judgement-free event through great food and great ideas,” says Priya Rao, VegTO Board Member and founder of The Social Herbivore. “Whether you already eat plant-based, are trying to make more sustainable choices or simply want to spend a fun Sunday with the whole family discovering something new, all are welcome.”

There’s plenty to taste, try and discover. Guests can sample delicious plant-based foods and treats from brands including Yves, Beyond Meat, Maison Riviera, Better Brie, Blend Society and more, while exploring dozens of local businesses, innovative products and community organizations.

Beyond the food, visitors can get hands-on with sustainability through a variety of engaging experiences, including:

  • Get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle with Plug ’N Drive and discover what it’s like to drive electric.
  • Bring old technology including unwanted small electronics for proper recycling with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
  • Taste the future of food with delicious plant-based vendors, innovative products and culinary discoveries from participating vendors.
  • Hear from sustainability and climate experts through eight speaker presentations exploring practical ways to make more environmentally conscious choices.
  • Shop and explore products from local makers, sustainable businesses and organizations working to create positive change.

‍

The festival is designed to make some of today’s biggest conversations about food, sustainability and climate feel tangible and accessible. Rather than asking people to make sweeping changes overnight, Small Changes, BIG Impact celebrates the collective difference that can come from millions of smaller choices.

Try something new. Support a local business. Discover a more sustainable product. Learn where your food comes from and how everyday choices add to your carbon footprint. Take an electric vehicle for a spin. Meet people doing interesting work in your community. Each small action can be part of something bigger.

“Toronto has an incredible food scene and a community that cares deeply about the future of our city and our planet,” adds Rao. “We hope to encourage people to add more plants to their plates through simple swaps and some of the incredible local food brands they’ll discover, and to leave feeling excited about all the small ways they can all make a big impact.”

Small Changes, BIG Impact also represents the next evolution of VegTO Fest, building on decades of bringing people together to discover plant-based food, businesses and community.

Whether you’re a foodie, sustainability enthusiast, curious omnivore, longtime vegan or simply looking for something different to do in Toronto this fall, Small Changes, Big Impact offers a full afternoon of food, discovery, inspiration and fun.
