Podcast 77: The giggly apology show
Saturday, 24 November 2007

[image: We want vegetarian pie in a can]Colleen, John and Jason return, fresh from their special AGM show, and they're still full of stuff to talk about, probably because they had so many visitors, like the football fans from Edmonton, the Ottawa woman (to whom we introduced the Ottawa Directory), Ryan the veganic farmer who gave us a book on vegan organic farming called Growing Green, and the yip yip aliens.

We also have several pie in a can sightings to report! We're still looking for a vegan version, preferably in a triangular can.

The "how many vegetarians are there?" question keeps coming up, and we have some answers, chief among which is: who cares? Listen to the show to find out why. Update: according to the Dietitians Of Canada And The American Dietetic Association, 4% of Canadian adults and 2.5% of adults in the United States follow vegetarian diets and interest is on the rise. And the latest report says that 3% of teens in the US are vegetarian up from 1% in 1997.

Also, a reminder that one should always check the ingredients when dining out or shopping, or you might get a mouthful of chicken, as one caller discovered the hard way.

Finally, be sure to stop by the Resource Centre next Saturday, December 1 for our holiday open house and live podcast! There will a vegan bake sale and hot drinks, plus we'll be open all afternoon from noon to 5pm.
